Relics from the 21st Century - Ed Wesly
Artist: Retrospective of works by Ed Wesly.
Venue: Mode Reality (An art gallery masquerading as a real estate office or vice versa?).
Location: 869 West 18th Street, Chicago, IL, USA.
Dates: June 4th - August 30th 2006.
Catalogue: No.
Type: 16 artworks: photographic, holographic, and kinetic sculptures. Holographic works included “Komete”, reflection hologram; “A Truly Splendid Monument for the First Great Minister of Culture” (who happens to be yours truly), 16” by 20” B & W photograph with Holographic Optical Embellishments; and the “Rainbow Projecting Robot”, plus a “Polish Hologram” (which the Gallery owner “bought” before he skipped town).
Invited 4 old girlfriends to the opening, two showed up, went home with one, which is not as good as both, but infinitely better than none. Met a girl I knew in college, took her to the show, the rest was history. Old gal pal from Texas came into town just to check out the show! To the victors goes the spoils so the Romans said!
